The probate bottleneck: What’s stalling legal services?
In his recent guest blog, Exizent’s Managing Director and Co-Founder, Aleks Tomczyk, reflects on the significant strides made in legal technology throughout 2024. Serving on the Law Society of Scotland’s Technology Advisory Board, Tomczyk highlights the Board’s achievements, including the development of a forward-looking strategy and initiatives that connect legal professionals with modern tools.
Despite these advancements, challenges remain. Exizent’s 2024 Bereavement Index reveals that 58% of legal professionals still rely on outdated systems, and 72% believe that better technology could significantly enhance efficiency. Concerns about cost and implementation continue to hinder progress.
Tomczyk envisions a fully technology-enabled legal sector where professionals focus on meaningful work, clients access services more easily, and the justice system operates more efficiently. Looking ahead to 2025, the emphasis will be on fostering technology adoption across the legal profession by sharing success stories and encouraging collaboration.
As Tomczyk aptly states, “Legal technology is not just about efficiency—it’s about unlocking new ways to deliver justice, empower professionals, and serve communities.” This perspective continues to drive progress and innovation in LegalTech.
